Government Arts College is organizing a State Level Conference on the 5th and 6th March, 2010 entitled "Education for Sustainble Development in Rural Areas"
Education for Sustainable Development in Rural Areas
Cultural heritage is the crown of Indian sub-continent. But, at the dawn of the twenty first century, India is standing at the cross-roads, grabbing the economic opportunities globalization and industrialization offered, on the one side, and trying to preserve the traditional character of our nation, on the other side. As mostof the Indian population lives in the rural areas, any development without including the villages and natural resources will become incomplete.
Education plays a vital role in this direction. All colleges in general and rural colleges in particular, create a knowledge society in the rural packets. The knowledge and skills among the rural people will go a long way in the nation building.
This conference/ seminar is a sincere effort in bringing ideas, expertise and different perspectives together to take a fresh look at the direction in which modern education in rural colleges should go. The conference/ seminar would like to throw light on how this education can sustain nature, create employability, nurture socio-economic development of the nation, and stimulate inclusive growth.
